SASHA ROIZA graduate of Sandhurst Academy, Arys Oakheart joined the Metropolitan Police force at the age of twenty-four, driven to serve, tightly laced, and with the military experience to send him into the Protection Command within his first year of service. In being one of the only men in the United Kingdom licensed to carry and use a firearm, Arys developed a serious respect for the chain of authority, and for his role as a protectorate for the country’s most influential men. After a few years spent covering the Israeli ambassador, Arys was put up to the Prime Minister Robert Baratheon’s personal guard in the early years of his incumbency.
Despite having privy access to the inner workings of British government, Arys only took a passing interest in the administration, action, and reception of Parliamentary decisions, preferring to focus on the more familial aspects of his job; those demanding his acute attention and personal investment. He regularly covered Cersei Lannister and the Baratheon children as part of their escort to Chequers. Of the Baratheon children, he developed a fondness for young Myrcella especially and was her personal security at Sansa Stark’s birthday party, where he witnessed the murder of Doran Martell.
Even before Martell’s assassination, Myrcella has expressed some interest in a summer internship at the conglomerate’s head offices. Naturally, her mother had not taken a liking to the idea but, regardless, she arranged to have Arys advise in Martell Steel’s new security policies and allow him to establish a relationship with its administrators in the event Myrcella proved determined. Following the assassination, with such a set-back for the Targaryen campaign, it benefitted Cersei to leave Arys with the Martells to provide intel to Areo Hotah regarding the chronology of the murder and loan his military expertise to the company’s resulting security overhaul and lock-down as a ‘gesture’ of ‘good will’ on behalf of the Baratheons.

Arys continues to operate as a Baratheon security ambassador to Martell Steel and establish relationships with its staff. His initial intention was to ensure Myrcella Baratheon every opportunity to succeed out of the traumatic experience at the Stark party, but it’s quickly being overshadowed by his growing attraction to Arianne Martell, which he has acknowledged but not acted upon. Over the course of the Martell lockdown following Doran’s assassination he was able to remain uncompromising towards her solicitations but his self-control is wearing thin. The disruption to the political currents, however, is making it difficult for him to maintain his trustworthiness as the Baratheon re-election campaign begins to gain momentum.He has the potential to interact with other members of Robert’s guard (Jaime, Sandor) as well as Myrcella, Areo Hotah and other members of the Martell board.
